2018 Forum

The Center for Children and Families presents our ninth annual forum on "Building Early Social-Emotional Health Two Generations at a Time" on Friday, October 19th from 9am - 2pm at Communities Foundation of Texas.

The Forum will feature keynote speaker Dr. Ross A. Thompson, distinguished professor of psychology at the University of California, Davis, and current president of the board of the highly respected and influential organization ZERO TO THREE. Dr. Thompson is also an affiliate of the Center for Poverty Research at UC Davis. His research has focused on applications of developmental research to public policy concerns, including school readiness and its development, early childhood investments, and early mental health. He has a long and distinguished career contributing to greater understanding of early parent-child relationships, children's development of emotion understanding and regulation, and prosocial motivation and growth of self-understanding in young children.
