2016 – 2017 Forum
The Center for Children and Families presented our seventh annual forum on “Out of School Time: Expanding Learning Opportunities, Reducing Achievement Gaps” on Friday, January 20th, 2017. The keynote speaker was Deborah Vandell, Ph.D., professor of education at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Vandell is an internationally recognized, leading scholar on the effects of afterschool programs on children’s social, behavioral and academic outcomes. Her research includes strategies for improving the quality of afterschool programs and youth engagement in such programs.
