This is a “Play It Forward” Site: $150 for 12 parent-child sessions. Your enrollment supports Play With Me programs free-of-charge for children and parents in high-need communities.

Curriculum

During the guided conversation in Play With Me, the parents discuss topics related to children’s development and parenting. Below is an example of the topics discussed during our 12-week sessions.

Family Celebration

The annual Play With Me Family Celebration brings together current and former participants of our Play With Me program for a day of fun and activities for children and their parents. The event also connects participants with organizations that provide services for children and families. The event is typically held in the late spring.

Evaluation

Play With Me program evaluation consists of parent questionnaires, observational assessments and parent phone interviews to examine how participation in the program affects positive parenting practices, parent-child engagement, parent confidence and efficacy, and children’s developing self-regulation skills.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Play With Me program?

It is a program for children 0 to 3 years old and their parents. It aims to promote optimal child development and a positive parent-child relationship.  Sessions include conversations with parents about parenting and child development, group activities for children, music, movement and free play with developmentally-appropriate toys.

All children who participate in the program receive a developmental evaluation and are connected to appropriate services if needed.

How do I enroll in the Play With Me program? Do I need any documents to register?

To enroll, you must complete three steps:

  1. Fill out an online registration form.
  2. Receive a call to verify your information.
  3. Receive a confirmation with program details via text message. No additional documents are required, just make sure to fill out the form and answer all the questions.
Why do you ask for information about family income and other personal data?

We request this information to better understand the families we serve and ensure we meet their needs. All information is confidential and is not shared with third parties.  

How long does the program last?

The program lasts 12 weeks in spring and fall, and between 8 and 10 weeks during the summer.  

Can I enroll with more than one child?

Yes, you can enroll with all the children in your family who are between the ages of 0 and 3.  

Can I bring a nephew, friend or neighbor to the program with my child?

Yes, you can bring another child to the program, as long as the parent or legal guardian completes the enrollment form and follows all steps of the process.  

If I can’t attend the program, can another family member attend with my child?

Yes, your mom, husband or another family member can attend the program with your child instead.
